OH HI!

I’m so happy you’re here!

Welcome to The Seasoned Cabin

Hi, I’m Heather, the cook, photographer, and voice behind The Seasoned Cabin.

My husband and I live full-time in a ski-in cabin on Mt. Hood, where the seasons shape how we cook and live. Winter means skiing to the car, heating with wood, and hauling groceries in by sled. Summer means foraging, hiking from the front door, and getting next year’s wood split and stacked.

We didn’t always live this way. This is what starting over in our fifties looks like after selling our dream home and moving full-time to the mountain.

Welcome to The Seasoned Cabin

Hi, I’m Heather. My husband and I live full-time in a ski-in cabin on Mt. Hood, where the seasons shape the way we cook and live. I share recipes, cabin life, and the everyday routines of mountain living, from foraging and splitting wood to cooking in a kitchen where the groceries arrive by ski sled.
